About Illinois FFA

Illinois FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Illinois FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.

FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. Illinois FFA members are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.

FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.

The official name of the organization is the Illinois Association FFA. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change.

Our members live our FFA motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live and Living to Serve. FFA members rise to the challenge of service embracing members of all walks of life united through FFA.

2023 Chapter Visits Schedule

Chapter Visits Program

Every year since the mid 1970’s, Illinois FFA State officers visit each FFA chapter in the State of Illinois which include over 386 schools throughout the state. The major state officers are accompanied by the Section Presidents from that area, as well as members from the Section Officer team. During those visits the officers facilitate activities that allow future and current FFA members to discover the multitude of opportunities FFA and agricultural education have to offer. These visits usually take place in the fall, and many times include a meeting with the 20 to 30 FFA members and potential FFA members at each school. Occasionally, officers facilitate larger assemblies with 75 to 100 students participating. A long standing Chapter Visits tradition is the Goal Card. The goal cards include a place for members to list their short, mid, and long term goals. The goal card also serves as the membership card. Goal cards are distributed to over 30,000 agricultural education students throughout the state. The purpose of the Chapter Visit is to share information, inspiration and a passion about FFA and agricultural education to the members and potential new members.
*** Since 2018, Chapter Visits has been sponsored by Compeer Financial.
