Sent on behalf of the IAVAT Board of Directors:
1. Resectioning Update
Thank you to everyone for providing feedback to the resectioning surveys. We have listened to your concerns. We know that your biggest concerns are travel, money, time, and membership input. We have decided, as a board, to move further discussion concerning resectioning to the summer conference. Based on feedback at IAVAT conference, next year's board will further look at resectioning. With this change, the earliest that a resectioining plan could be implemented will be the 2023-2024 school year.
2. Proposed Constitutional Amendment - Article 3, Section 3, Subsection A
Anyone engaged in agricultural education who is not professionally qualified to teach agriculture. Illinois Association of Community College Agriculture Instructors (IACCAI) members, University Staff, and State Staff may be either Active or Associate members of the Association. Others may become Associate members by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors. Associate members have the right to attend all meetings and participate in discussions.
*Strike "Others may become Associate members by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors."
3. IAVAT Policy Updates
During the April 2021 IAVAT Board of Directors meeting, the IAVAT Policies document were reviewed and updated. Click here to view an updated version of IAVAT Policy.
