WOMEN CHANGING THE FACE OF AGRICULTURE ANNOUNCES 2021 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

[Decatur, Illinois, January 2021] Women Changing the Face of Agriculture, a project of the Illinois Agri-Women, is once again offering four scholarships for females studying agriculture.

The $1500 IAW Helen Henert Agriculture Education Scholarship is for an agriculture education major who is finishing the degree in the next year. To fill out the application, click here.

Three $1000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to students who have attended at least one Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference or submit a worksheet from this year’s online curriculum.  One scholarship is for a high school senior, one for a current college student, and one for a current graduate student.

The application can be found here.

“Being a part of WCFA as a student and volunteer has allowed me to make connections I value tremendously. Along with receiving a scholarship, I am grateful to be a part of this industry surrounded by successful women who continue to support each other in all endeavors,” said Callie McClay, a 2020 scholarship recipient.

Previous scholarship winner Kylie Miller said, “Illinois Agri-Women events and scholarships set women up for success not only financially, but by creating a community of women who empower one another within the agriculture industry.”

The deadline for submission of the online application is March 31, 2021.  Find scholarship information and applications at https://www.illinoisagriwomen.org/join-us/scholarship-opportunities/

The Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization supports the agriculture industry, works for legislation to support and preserve family farms, communicates with other agriculture organizations, and strives to educate the public and promote agricultural awareness. The annual conference to be hosted at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois has been moved to 2022. However, WCFA will be utilizing an online curriculum this year.
