Ag Ed CDE Deadline Extension

The IAVAT Board has approved an extension to the Ag Ed CDE Submission Deadline.  Recognizing that some students may have organized a lesson for a virtual setting and are planning to make changes to accommodate our in person competition, it has been decided to extend the deadline to APRIL 14th.  We hope these few extra days will allow students extra time to make the changes that they would like and still allow the host time to get lesson plans scored and notify the top ten by the date below.  If your student has already submitted and would like to use the extra time to make changes, they are welcome to do so by resubmit their entry before the new deadline.

To review other information about the event, please review the information from yesterday's message below:

We are also excited to let you know that we will be holding the Finals in person at the Champaign County Farm Bureau on May 8th!  COVID protocol will be followed and more information will be sent out about that protocol and times to finalist closer to the competition.

General Event Information:

  • Each chapter can submit one entry
  • Contest will be broken into two parts, Preliminaries (Lesson Plan) and Finals (Demonstration & Judge’s Questions)
  • Lesson plan/supplemental materials (powerpoint, handouts, Prezi, etc.) must be submitted electronically through this Google Form by 11:59pm on April 14th.  If your school is not Google compatible or there are any issues/questions, please contact Megan Coy (mcoy@ilaged.org)
  • All participants will be notified by April 23rd, 2021 as to whether or not they placed in the top 10.  Those placing in the top ten (based on lesson plan scores) will be eligible to compete in the final round.

Click here to access the full set of rules and rubrics that will be used and here for an example lesson plan.  A copy of the blank lesson plan template can be found at www.ilaged.org/aged

Please email mcoy@ilaged.org with any questions or if you would like any further information!
