Please see the below announcement from Dr. Daniel Foster at Penn State regarding their Global Teach Ag program.

Our goal is affordable professional development. “Digital Passes” for the event are only $25 and the “All-Access” aka Conference-in-a-Box are $50. There is a limited supply of the All-Access Pass and it is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis (100 total available). I would be glad to talk on the phone, zoom with you, or speak about this in Anaheim at NAAE. The Global Teach Ag Initiative at Penn State will have table at the partner reception for the first time!

Overview of #GLAG20: Critical Collaborations (https://sites.psu.edu/glag/)

GLAG20 Daily Essential Questions (February 3rd-6th)

As in the past, each day we will release “on-demand’ presentations related to the daily question as well as an evening “Live Event”. We will also be having “private events” occurring throughout the week from our Global Learning Partners.

  • Sustainable Development Goals – How can instructors utilize the Sustainable Development Goal framework?
  • Global Learning – How can instructors facilitate global learning on campuses and in classrooms without “leaving home”?
  • Global Experiences – How can international immersion experiences facilitate student understanding of the global agricultural system?
  • Education Across the World – How are educators across the world developing creative approaches to agricultural and/or food security education?

GLAG20 Big Event – Friday, February 7th: 1pm-4pm
The Big Show! Hosted this year by Mr. Carson Letot, Montague (MI) HSAgriscience Teacher and Dr. Filiberto Penados, Belizean education and indigenous studies scholar/CELA Belize Community Engagement Advisor, our conference afternoon will include Live Presentations; Special Events (seriously- will be fun); and an on-point Keynote by Dr. Dr. Maricelis Acevedo-  https://sites.psu.edu/glag/keynote-speaker-2/

#GLAGReads
Back for the third year, our curated Book Club experience facilitated by Dr. Robin McLean, New Jersey Agriscience Educator. #GLAGReads starts on February 7th and continues through the Spring with shared conversations in a special FaceBook group, on Twitter, on FlipGrid and even a Zoom Q&A with the Author! The 2020 Book is  A  “Becoming a Globally Competent Teacher” by Dr. Ariel Tichnor-Wagnor.

#GLAGJr
After a successful pilot year, #GLAGjr coordinated by a Global Teach Ag Interns with coaching from Vivayic will be an opportunity for educators to enroll youth groups in program to engage in global learning in agriculture with other youth groups/classes across the world. There will be opportunity to apply for Grants fund for local global learning projects. This year, GLAGjr will also have a signature book with the selected text being “The Bitter Side of Sweet” by Tara Sullivan, a piece of juvenile fiction that describes child labor in West Africa as part of the cacao supply chain.
