Hello Illinois agricultural educators,
This email is for advisors only.
I am inviting you to nominate two of your students to participate in our SIU Agriculture Education Leadership Camp! We are holding the camp July 12, 13, and 14 on the SIU campus.
As you may recall, this leadership camp is different from the others in that we want your students that may not have had an opportunity in the past to lead, but have great potential. We would prefer students going into 11th and 12th grade. We would appreciate it if you could share these two flyers and promote the camp with up to two of your students.
This is a one-day day camp and your students can select one of the three days to attend. We are taking care of all expenses for the camp, the students just need to get here. We recommend your students choose the same day so that they have a friend and can carpool.
We are going to learn about agriculture education and what it is like to be an ag teacher. Our day is split into two halves; we have fun leadership and learning activities planned for one half and the other half is spent on the high-ropes course! We will conclude the day with a dinner and closing ceremonies and students should be on their way home by 6:30.
Our camp this year can only accept 30 students each day for three days (90 students total). Once the slots are filled we cannot accept any more. If our district does not fill the slots by May 31, I will open the remaining slots to the rest of the state. To register, students can use the QR code on the flyer, or qrco.de/bc8T89.
