Mattoon High School, located in Section 20, is looking for an additional Agriculture teacher for start of the 2020-2021 school year. This position includes; FFA stipend, extended contract, and opportunity to participate in the 3 circles grant.
This agriculture program boasts a variety of agricultural courses and an active FFA chapter. Current facilities include; agriculture classroom, greenhouse, aquaponics lab, animal lab, land lab, and mechanics shop.
The specific course schedule will be determined after the successful candidate is identified and the course registration process is complete. However, it will likely include Ag Sciences, Animal Sciences, Plant Sciences, Career Exploration and SAE.
The Mattoon School District is a progressive district looking to expand personalized learning opportunities through a variety of ways. The district has been focused on developing the following; competency based educational opportunities, preparing for all students to have a personal device by fall of 2021 and is seeking to empower students at all ages through the use of the "Leader in Me" curriculum.
