Ag Teacher & FFA Advisor

Description

Orion High School, located in Orion in Section 3, is seeking an Agricultural

Education Teacher/FFA Advisor position for the Fall of 2021.

The Orion Ag Department has an ag mechanics shop, greenhouses, torchmate and a 17-acre FFA test plot. Current courses to be taught (although, flexible based on candidates) Environmental Science, Ag Mechanics, Intro to Ag, Agronomy, Animal Genetics/Nutrition, and Diversified Occupations (which is an on the job experience course).  School is going 1 to 1 with Chromebooks. The Agriculture Department does have a new touch screen Promethean board, Ag Office Space, and an FFA Officer conference room. Agriculture Mechanics Shop is receiving other upgrades this summer and plans are in the works for expansion of the vocational building. Agriculture is very important in our community and we have a very supportive alumni.  

Candidates must have an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).  Contract length is 12 months as the school district participates in the Three Circle FFA and SAE grant.       .
