The Agriculture Instructor/FFA Advisor will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction to create a quality comprehensive agriculture education program. Planned courses for the 2019-2020 school year include Junior High Agriculture, Introduction to Agriculture, Agriculture Science, BSAA, Ag Business Management and possibly Horticulture. The department has a greenhouse that is in the process of being replaced due to storm damage. The successful candidate will also be responsible for advising the FFA program and providing an FFA experience that integrates with classroom instruction and provides a complete program when combined with SAE programs. 

Spoon River Valley CUSD 4 is a rural school district located in west central Illinois. The program has the start of an Alumni program as well as good community support. In addition to the greenhouse, the program has a multi-acre land lab that has been used to grow crops to help fund the program expenses through the year. 

The instructor will be offered a ten month contract. In addition to that, the program has also taken advantage of the Three Circle grant to provide additional time outside of the contract.
