SIU Upcoming Dates & Events

SIU is excited to announce that we are planning all future events and CDEs to be IN PERSON this school year! We are closely monitoring the pandemic and will pivot to virtual if needed to ensure the safety of all participants. Any updates to event modality will be sent out via this listserv and to event participants as soon as the determination is made.

Below are details and registration information for upcoming CDEs and events happening at SIU - Carbondale!

Greenhand

Greenhand Workshop will take place on September 7, 2021. On-site check in and registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the SIU Student Center. The conference will begin at 5:00 p.m. Please register at the link below. To have accurate record of attendees we ask that all registration be done prior to the event. We ask that all teams register by Friday, September 3, 2021.

COLT

D5 & Invitational Horse Judging CDE

The Horse Judging CDE will take place on September 10, 2021. On-site check in will begin at 9:00 a.m. The contest will begin at 9:30 a.m. The contest will be in person at the University Farms. Please register at the link below. To have accurate record of attendees we ask that all registration be done prior to the event. There will be no same-day registration. We ask that all teams register by Wednesday, October 8, 2021.

Please note that your registration will not be completed until the registration fee is received. The registration fee is $5 per contestant. Registration fees can be paid to Judging Card through the registration link above.

Ag Day at the Football Game

Saturday, September 18 - Ag Day at the Football Game with a tailgate prior to the game. Tickets and pre-game events will be free to FFA members and advisors.

SIU Ag Career Day

Friday, October 1 - SIU Ag Career Day - We have confirmed a speaker and working on the details.  The day will begin with a 9 am registration, speaker in the student center, and free lunch following.  Campus and farm tours will also be available for any FFA Chapters interested.
