Agricultural Education Internship Opportunity for High School and College Students - $1,000 Stipend! - Applications due Friday, October 15th!
The Agricultural Education High School Internship Program offered through Highland Community College gives college and high school students the opportunity to participate in a paid internship with a local high school agriculture teacher as well as earn college credit online for OCED 290: Workplace Experience at Highland. Through this program and online course, students will gain experience within the agricultural education profession alongside a local agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. All students participating in the program must enroll in and complete the OCED 290: Workplace Experience course through Highland. Registration for this course will occur in the spring semester, but coursework can be completed anytime throughout the school year. The tuition and fees for this course will be waived as part of the internship program. The program consists of 75 hours of internship experience as well as OCED 290 coursework assignments. Coursework for OCED 290 is synonymous with the internship program requirements. Successful progress and completion of this program will result in a $1,000 stipend payment. The first $500 stipend will be paid at spring midterm (late March) if the student is progressing successfully and achieving a B or higher in the course. The second $500 stipend will be paid at the end of the spring semester (mid May) if the student achieved a B or higher as a final grade in the course.
