Vacancy Posting- Greenville Ag Teacher/FFA Advisor

The Bond County Unit 2 School District, includes the communities of Greenville, Pocahontas and Sorento. The Greenville Ag Department, located in Section 19, is seeking a full time agriculture teacher for 2022-2023 as Mr. Stephen Zimmerman will be retiring.

The program includes a large classroom with computer lab, an Ag mechanics shop, 18’ x 36’ greenhouse, CNC Plasma Cutting Machine, Aquaculture Lab and an 18-acre FFA test plot. Greenville High School is 1-to-1 with Chromebooks. The Agriculture Department does have an Ag Office Space and a multipurpose room (kitchenette, science) room.

Current courses to be taught include Introduction to the Ag Industry, Agriculture Science, Basic Agriculture Mechanics, Ag Sales and Marketing, BSAA, Agriculture Business Management (Consumer Economics Credit), Horticulture and Floral Design (1 semester class), and Landscape and Turf Management (1 semester class). Some classes alternate each year. Agriculture is very important in our community and we have very supportive alumni.

Candidates must have an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS). Contract length is 12 months as the school district participates in the Three Circle FFA and SAE grant.
