I am pleased to announce John Heiser as the new Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education(FCAE) District 1 Program Advisor beginning July 1, 2020.
Currently in his 9th year as the agriculture teacher at the Putnam County High School in Granville of Section 5, John began his teaching career in August, 2011. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in agricultural education from Illinois State University. John is CASE certified in four courses and has developed a very successful agriculture program where 115 students are enrolled in agriculture courses. His students are involved in numerous FFA events and have placed high in judging events including the state winning FFA Ag Issues CDE team in 2015. He has assisted 51 students achieve section proficiency awards; 23 State FFA degree winners; and 4 American FFA degree winners. John has held numerous leadership roles and offices including IAVAT President this past year and currently serves as the IAVAT Past President and Chair of Administrative Council. Welcome John to the Illinois Agricultural Education state staff leadership team.
