1. LIVESTOCK AND HORTICULTURE CONTEST REGISTRATION
Contest Date: Friday, April 17, 2020
Pre-Registration Deadline: April 10, 2020
Livestock: Varsity, JV, Middle School (6-8), Practice
Location: Bull Test Barn (654 Rowden Road; Carbondale, IL 62901)
Pre-Registration Cost: $20/team
On-Site Registration Cost: $25/team
Registration: 8:30 am - 9 am
Contest Start: 9am
This year the varsity/middle school event will be held first and the JV/practice event held after the varsity is completed. You may register your school for the JV, varsity, or practice here.
Teams will consist of 5 members with the top 3 scores counting towards the team score.
Each school is limited to one varsity team and one junior varsity team. You many bring as many practice teams/individuals as you like and they will be scored as individuals. The practice individuals will be preregistered at $5 per student.

Horticulture: Varsity, JV, Practice
Location: Agriculture Building (1205 Lincoln Drive; Carbondale, IL 62901)
Pre-Registration Cost: $20/team
On-Site Registration Cost: $25/team
Registration: 7:30 - 8:15 am
Contest Start: 8:15 am
Teams will consist of 5 members with the top 4 scores counting towards the team score.
Each school is limited to one varsity team and one junior varsity team. You many bring as many practice individuals as you like and they will be scored as individuals. The practice individuals will be preregistered at $5 per student.

2. PARKING
Parking for buses will be at the SIU's service center the address is 2800 Union Road Carbondale. Vans will be shuttling drivers.
3. SCORING
Scoring of the events will be done by scan-tron. We will be using the judgingcard.com system that the IAVAT currently uses. Please check On the IAVAT website under CDE's for additional information and sample judging cards you might use to prepare and learn more about this system. Be sure each participant has a clipboard and plenty of pencils.
Please make certain students know their Chapter Number.
4. PRIZE AWARDS
SIU will be presenting prize money to the top three teams and top three individuals in both the Horticulture and the Livestock Judging CDE's. The first place teams will receive $200, second place teams $150, and third place teams $100. The team money will be paid in checks to the chapters. The first place individuals will receive $100, second place $50 and third place $75 as checks to the students. The College of Agriculture at SIU will be awarding $1350 to chapters and individuals that excel at the Livestock and Horticulture CDE's.
