1. Clarifications on Messages from last week’s listserv

We adjusted the Illinois FFA C.A.R.E. - Commitment to Appropriate and Respectful Experiences Form so that is all on one page - thank you for pointing out how two pages is a quick way for the first page to get ignored when people skip to signing the document.  The bullet points in this document will be added to the documents when you sign FFA members up for events, such as FFA Leadership Camp, BUILD, Ground Zero, etc, these details will be added to the documents you already submit for these event.  We asked that you review it prior to convention and have on hand for your own use, you can have the paper copies or electronically, most importantly please take the time to  have conversations with your students prior to attending convention.  Again, we will not be collecting them for State Convention this year.  We understand that some of you have a behavior contract with your school to attend events while some schools do not, reviewing this document or any behavior contract with your students prior to attending any event helps to ensure the well being of everyone involved.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mindy Bunselmeyer, mbunselmeyer@illinoisffa.org

Rules and Guidelines

1. Contestants must be members of the Illinois Association FFA.

2. All work must be that of the entrant. 

3. There are five categories: 

   1. Blue Jacket Best 

   2. Scenes of the Agriculture Industry 

   3. Animal Agriculture

   4. FFA Magical Moments

   5. Ag Education at Its Finest 

4. Each contestant may submit a total of five photos; one photo per category. 

5. Judges reserve the right to move a photo into a more suitable category. 

6. All photos must be in horizontal or landscape format. 

7. Photos must be submitted by or on March 20, 2022. 

8. Photos must be taken by the contestant during the time frame of June 1, 2020 to May 1, 2022.  

9. Photos may be digitally enhanced. 

10. Photos are to be submitted through the Photography Contest Google Form. 

11. Photos may not have been entered in a previous Illinois FFA Photography Contest. 

12. Photos become the property of the Illinois Association FFA for use in publications and promotion.

National FFA is bringing back the HALL OF STATES Competition!

5.  State Ag Communications CDE Mandatory Registration is Open

State Ag Communications CDE is Monday, June 13 - Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at

Lincoln Land Communication College.  Individual Practicums will be Monday afternoon and Tuesday Morning will be the teams.  Times TBA.  Please register your students for the following areas:  Web Design Practicum, Video Producer Practicum, Journalistic Written Practicum, and Opinion Writing Practicum.  IAVAT Member Cost is $12 and Non-IAVAT Member Cost is $48.  Mandatory Registration closes on Monday, May 30, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.

6.  Scrapbook Competition

Please click here to complete the 2022 Scrapbook Intent. The Scrapbook competition is judged during the state FFA convention.  We recently learn of changes in availability of the official scrapbooks from National FFA, due to this scrapbook rules are currently under revisions.  Those will be updated and posted soon.  

7. 2022 State Greenhand Quiz Bowl Competition

We are SUPER excited to be bringing the State Quiz Bowl Competition back to the 94th Annual Illinois FFA State Convention on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 starting at 10:00 a.m.  We are still determining all of the Section Winners (a few sections will have their Greenhand Quiz Bowl this week), once we know all of the winners, those schools will be emailed more details about the event.
