Public Speaking Judges Needed!
The Illinois Simmental Association is the host state for this year's American Junior Simmental Assn (AJSA) National Classic. As host, it is our responsibility to arrange all of the Development Events (Similar to CDEs). One such event that I am in charge of is the Public Speaking contest, to be held on Sunday, June 26th at 9 am. If things go according to schedule, it should last about 3 hours. Throughout the event, we'll run about 400 Junior Members through a public speaking opportunity, so as you can imagine, it takes a lot of judges and help!
Our challenge this year is that while we're the host state, the event is being held in Madison, WI at the Alliant Energy Center, as IL does not have a facility suitable to host such a large number of cattle. That said, we're working diligently to seek out qualified individuals to serve as judges for our events, and Ag Teachers immediately came to mind. If you would be interested in helping out, or know someone who might, please reach out to me with the name, phone number, and email address of the interested judge. Please feel free to forward this message on to any ag groups or individuals who might be interested in helping out!
