<This message sent to all Ag Teachers and Section FFA Officers>
Have you or your students considered applying for the FFA Chapter Exchange grant, and now you're looking for a school to visit?
Gary Comer Youth Center FFA, the only Charter School with an FFA Chapter in Illinois, invites you to come to Chicago to learn about urban agriculture and celebrate the 50th Annual Earth Day at the same time!
Green Teens is a year-round employment-readiness program designed for high school teens to explore and participate in urban agriculture and related green careers on the South Side of Chicago. This year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the Green Teens and the Gary Comer FFA Chapter are inviting other FFA chapters to join them in an afternoon of service on the campus network of gardens. The day will include hands-on horticulture activities, tours of our urban farm, team building activities, and dinner prepared by our culinary program. We can host schools April 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. If your chapter or class is interested or if you have any questions please contact Amanda Anderson at
aanderson@gcychome.org or 773-358-4079.
Thank you!
