SIU Horse Judging CDE

SIU College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences would like to thank the 47 schools and 408 students that participated in the SIU Horse Judging CDE today.  It was a beautiful day, and we had a great turnout this year!

Congratulations to our Varsity Team winner - Goreville and Junior Varsity Division winner – Cobden.

The attached report contains the top 10 teams (Varsity and JV) and top 20 individual scores (Varsity and JV).  Scores can be checked on judgingcard.com.

In addition, we would like to say thank you to Stephanie Speiser her hard work in putting the contest together and running it today. Also, a thank you to Samantha Wuest, the SIU Equine Center Manager, for her help in coordination and work with the horses.  Their hard work is greatly appreciated.  We also appreciate those individuals that brought horses for the contest, and our official judges.

Last but not least – thank you to all of our FFA students and staff that helped make this event a success! 

We hope to see all of you at the Ag Career Day Thursday, October 6 at the SIU Farms. This event will provide your students with the opportunity to explore the various fields of the agricultural industry and their careers. We will be featuring workshops across University Farms as well as on campus that cover topics such as Wildlife Monitoring, Agronomy, Agriculture Education, and more! Registration will open at 8am on University Farms with workshops to follow. Lunch will be served at 12:15 and should be wrapped up by 1pm.
