Position: 3rd Agriculture Teacher and Co-FFA Advisor
Description
Sycamore High School, located in Section 6, is adding a 3rd full time certified Agriculture teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Current course offerings include: Introduction to Horticulture, Advanced Horticulture, Introduction to Agriculture, BSAA, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Academy, Ag Speech, Food Science, 8th grade Ag, Agriculture Mechanics, and Welding. Teaching positions will be assigned based on experience and expertise of teacher. Sycamore High School has a woodworking, welding and agriculture shop, greenhouse, FFA plot and Agriculture barn. Sycamore also has a strong and supportive alumni chapter. Position includes collaborating with current agriculture teachers, Kara Poynter and Christian Thurwanger, to expand the program through agriculture courses offered and creating new course offerings.
Certification
Agriculture and secondary certifications; preferred middle school endorsement and Science. The successful applicant must have a valid Professional Educator License with the proper endorsements for teaching secondary Agriculture Education, with a preference to those with licensure in grades 6-12
