Title: Assistant Lecturer (NTT / Part-time - Agricultural Systems and Education) (Extended Deadline)

The Agricultural Systems and Education program at SIU Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Lecturer (variable time 25%-50%). It is anticipated that the initial appointment would be as a 50% instructor, and is a renewable-term position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate level course(s) in face to face, blended, or online formats. Participate in academic service activities as assigned. Undergraduate courses needing instruction are as follows: Intro to Physical Principles in Agriculture (Mechanics), Agricultural Education Programs, Career Development in Agriculture, Online Instruction and Award Programs in Agricultural Education, or other classes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master’s degree required with a specialization in secondary school Agricultural Education. Education and experience must be appropriate to teaching assignment. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills required.  Salary is commensurate with professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School teaching experience, with teaching experience at the college level and/or experience in teaching agricultural mechanics courses preferred.
