Carmi-White County CUSD #5, in Carmi (Section 25), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for the 2023-24 school year. The newly hired individual will be serving as the third teacher and will be working with Mr. Bob Lamp and Mr. John Lamp.
Facilities include a classroom, greenhouse and shop. Within the agriculture department there are currently 167 students taking an agriculture education course and are FFA members. Current courses offered, but are able to be adapted due to strengths of the hired individual, include Greenhouse Production, Horticulture Production & Management, Introduction to the Agricultural Industry, Natural Resources, Agricultural Construction, Agricultural Welding, and Basic Agricultural Mechanics.
Candidates should have a valid Illinois Teacher License. Candidates will be paid based on the collective bargaining agreement. This position also may include an FFA stipend and/or eligibility for the Three Circle Grant.
