Illinois FFA Center Hours & Updates 

OPEN - Monday , June 1, 2o20, all staff will be in the office on a rotational basis keeping our number of those gathered in one set location under 10 per Phase 3 protocol.  We thank you for your continued patience as we work through this schedule and are staffed on a limited basis.

1. FFA Convention Business Session & Elections Updates

At this time, we are pleased to announce the following schedule for delegate participation in the State FFA Convention Business & Elections Sessions:

Practice - Monday, June 8, 2020 @ 1pm

Business Session - Tuesday, June 9, 2020 @1pm

Elections Session - Thursday, June 11, 2020 @ 5pm

Once all delegates have been registered by Sunday, May 31, 2020 (see link at beginning of listserv), an email will be sent to all delegates according to emails submitted during the registration process including instructions for joining the meetings. Copies of these emails will go to advisors to share with delegates in the cases of school accounts blocking external emails.

The business sessions are planned on a Zoom platform to allow delegates to both view presentations/speeches and engage in discussion via the chat function. As a reminder, the voting process will take place on a separate TurningTechnologies app or web browser, so ideally students would have two separate devices (click here to view listserv with previous FAQ regarding the voting platform).

The initial plan is to take the first ~30 minutes from each scheduled start time to process admitting delegates to the meeting and working through a roll call procedure. Final details regarding this process will be sent in the email to delegates and advisors after delegate registration closes.

For those that register participants for the state Ag Business Management CDE next week, a link to a graded Google Form will be shared with teachers of students registered by Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 6pm. Teachers should then forward the link to participating students to complete by Friday, June 5, 2020 at 11:59pm. Please note that an add-on is being tested for use that would limit a participant to 3 hours to complete and submit the exam, but could be completed at any time throughout the week. We are also aware that during registration, some divisions are not allowing the submission of student names on ilaged.org. Please submit what you are able on ilaged.org and we will verify against what is submitted via the graded Google Form for the contest.

As a reminder, Ag Business and Ag Communications registrations are currently available on ilaged.org. There have been a few concerns raised regarding the limited time to prepare for the Media Plan portion of the Ag Communications contest. As the IAVAT board discussed, we will continue to offer the full contest (media plan and individual practicums). If a school does not wish to participate in the media plan portion of the contest due to time constraints, they will be able to compete in individual practicum areas only.

Final details and registration links are still being finalized by the Livestock CDE host and will be shared as soon as they are available.

As we look to so many industry leaders, friends and family of the Illinois FFA for counsel and guidance, we are thrilled to award the following individuals with the Honorary State FFA Degree during the Illinois FFA Virtual State Convention.
