Sent on behalf of Jessica Collins regarding 2020 Virtual Livestock CDE:
It seems that many people are struggling with the Livestock contest as we were unable to send out detailed instructions yesterday because the contest was still being finished. Here are instructions that will help you and your students compete in the contest. The contest opened this morning at 8 am and will end on Sunday at 5 pm.
1. Each student will register themselves on
livestockjudging.com so they will sign up for an account or sign in if they already have one.
3. Once they do that they will select their division and school. For the divisions they can choose from either reasons (each school can have 5), non-reasons (official team of 5 for each school), or alternates (as many as you want)--I SUGGEST YOU COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR STUDENTS WHAT DIVISION TO CHOOSE!
4. From there they should be able to complete the contest and they have until Sunday at 5 pm to finish the contest.
5. If they are doing reasons, after they complete the contest they will record themselves doing reasons. Then they will turn them into a YouTube link (most kids know how to do this--if not email me with questions) and upload the links for their reasons. Those reasons will need to be uploaded by Sunday at 5 pm as well.
As far as payment goes, after the contest, invoices will be sent to all schools to pay for their students.
We know that this is a new platform and are still trying to figure out the kinks along with you. We greatly appreciate your participation and patience and we navigate these uncharted territories together! If you have any other questions, please feel free to email Jessica Collins at
jcollins@fc74.org or call at 309-242-5744.
