We were so excited some of you were able to join us this summer at the Illinois Association FFA State Convention. We want to continue to provide you with resources to assist you in working with your agricultural education program locally. 

Therefore, the FCAE-Local Program Support Team will be hosting a series of professional development opportunities geared toward you this school year. We hope you can join us for one or more events!

• Supporting Your New Teacher or Beginning Teacher - The workshop is for both administrators & counselors to help you best support those teachers who are new to agricultural education or even those who have been around a few years.

• Agriculture Food & Natural Resources CCPE Guide Book Workshop - Learn about setting up a guidebook for your College and Career Pathway Endorsements with Cambridge High School Counselor, Lisa Miller.

• Developing Your Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources Course Plan - This workshop will include the following topics: 

  • AFNR courses meeting academic requirements and NCAA approval

  • Course requirements for FFA membership

  • Dual credit and certifications as part of the AFNR course

  • Sequencing of agriculture courses

  • Implementing work-based learning through AFNR courses

  • Placing and recruiting students into your AFNR courses

• Illinois State Board of Education AFNR Grants - Three Circles & Ag Incentive - We will dive into completing the details of the grants including intent forms, IWAS Budget, and grant reporting.

• Administrator and Counselor Workshop at IL FFA State Convention - In addition to taking part in the Illinois FFA State Convention, we invite you to spend a morning with us to learn about the latest trends in AFNR through roundtable topics that impact agriculture education.
