David Marvin Scott, 57, of Belle Rive, Illinois, passed away at 3:02 pm August 21, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1967 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Marvin W. and Vivian M. (Hamson) Scott.
David is survived by mother, Vivian Scott of Belle Rive, Illinois; son, Colton Scott and girlfriend, Erica Armstrong of Destin, Florida; brother-in-law, Ron Daniels of Belle Rive, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Casey Catalfamo and wife, Jessica of Belle Rive, Illinois, Amy Maschhoff and husband, Ryan of Breese, Illinois, Brent Daniels and wife, Kelsey of Belle Rive, Illinois, Diane Kavalhuna and husband, Dan of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Tony Catalfamo of Saint Louis, Missouri; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Madelynn and Zander Catalfamo, Austin and Owen Maschhoff, Walker, Branch, and Dax Daniels, and Gia and Ivan Kavalhuna.
David was preceded in death by his father, Marvin W Scott; sisters, Dolores J. Daniels and Kathy Diane Catalfamo; and brother-in-law, Tony Catalfamo.
Mr. Scott worked as an agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor for twenty years at Wayne City High School. He also worked one year at Waterloo High School and Mount Vernon High School and also worked at the Alternative School in Mount Vernon. He also taught Motorcycle Safety Courses. David was a member of Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church. While growing up, David loved go carts, motorcycles, and three wheelers. He was a loving father and uncle and will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Mr. Ron Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Rive Cemetery in Belle Rive, Illinois. Memorials may be made in David 's honor to Wayne City FFA or Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church.
