College & University Faculty- Please share the following message with your students who are considering pursing a career in agricultural education. This message is sent on behalf of the Illinois STAR committee, which is focused on recruiting and retaining quality agriculture teachers. This committee is made up of representatives from Illinois Universities, State Ag Ed Staff, IAVAT Leadership and many other stakeholders.
Hello future agriculture teachers! We would like to invite you to the STAR Bus Trip on September 26th-27th in the Staunton/Greenville area. On this trip you will get a chance to visit agriculture teachers and their students, as we travel around to a variety of agriculture programs. You will get hands on experience in working with horticulture, ag mechanics, natural resources & wildlife, training an FFA Officer team, and learn about working with a community. Logistics of the event:
Date: September 26th-27th
Where: The trip will begin at Staunton High School and we will stay in Greenville (more information can be found on the itinerary)
Registration: Starts at 5:00pm at Staunton High School with dinner to follow
Transportation: We will provide transportation on the 27th
Cost: FREE (only cost would be travel to and from the conference)
