If you are listed as a contest superintendent (lead instructor) or assistant, what we ask is that you communicate with any others that may be working with you on that contest to discuss any potential changes that will need to be made to contest format or rules and let me know those no later than Monday, February 1, 2021. The board will then review later in the week and publicize any updates for all institutions to share with participants. At this time, our goal is to run all contests fairly similar to past years, simply adjusting as necessary for a virtual and sometimes asynchronous process.
The responsibilities of contest superintendents (lead instructors) and their assistants will be to create event materials (exams, ID, problem solving, speech topics, etc.), coordinate logistics of the specific event (setting up Zoom links, organizing/managing breakout rooms, sharing exam links, etc. as necessary), and send me final scores and results of the contest upon its conclusion. If you have questions about your role or need assistance with any piece of coordinating your event, please coordinate a time to discuss with me further.
An opening session will be conducted Monday, February 22, 2021 at 5pm that is required for all participants to attend to compete later in the week. If participants have conflicts with this session, they will be required to conduct alternative engagement opportunities with event sponsors to be eligible to compete.
A delegate business session and officer elections will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6pm. In order to run for Illinois PAS office, candidates must email me (jedgar@illinoisffa.org) their resume by February 12, 2021.
A tentative schedule of activities is listed below. Please note, this is subject to change pending updates to contest procedures and/or any potential conflicts identified by contest hosts in the coming weeks, so please review and let me know of any issues ASAP:
