Altamont High School Ag Teacher & FFA Advisor
Altamont High School, located in Section
19, is taking applications for a full-time agriculture instructor and FFA
advisor for the 2021-2022 academic year. Course
offerings include Introduction to Agriculture, Basic
Agriculture; Ag Mechanics and Technology; Horticulture; Landscape Design,
Maintenance, and Turf Grass; Business Management; Animal Science; Veterinary
Science; Biological Science Applications in Agriculture - Plant; and Physical
Science Applications in Agriculture.
Altamont
is invested in using the CASE Curriculum and prefers candidates that either are
currently certified or willing to complete certification in CASE. Current CASE
offerings include AFNR and ABF. Facilities include greenhouse, an
aeroponics site, a mechanical shop with woodworking equipment, a plot of just
under eleven acres, and are a 1:1 technology district with all students having their
own Chromebooks
The
successful candidate will also serve as the FFA advisor for a chapter that is
Nationally Ranked in the top one third of all FFA chapters. The FFA
portion will involve numerous after school contests and CDEs.
