  New Teaching Vacancies: Donovan and Normal

Donovan HS   - Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor
Donovan High School, located in Section 10, is seeking a creative and energetic Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor to lead our Agriculture program.  Facilities include a large classroom and lab space.  Donovan participates in the Three Circles Grant which allows for 400 extra hours for our Agriculture teacher which equates to roughly $13,000 extra pay. The program has very strong support from the school and community. 
Courses currently taught include 7th grade ag, Plant & Animal Biology, Food Science, Horticulture, and Intro to Ag.

Qualifications

Professional Educator License with Secondary Education (6 – 12) Agriculture endorsement required. 

Salary/Benefits

Salary, and benefits, per Teacher's Master Contract. Full time position. All new teachers get a $2,000 signing bonus!  Contract will be full time plus 400 paid extra hours from the 3-circle grant.

Normal Community HS  (2nd Teacher)  - Agriscience/Science Teacher/Co-FFA Advisor
Status: Open

Normal Community High School, located in Section 9, is seeking a dual-certified Agriscience/Science Education teacher for the start of the 2021-2022 school year to work alongside current teacher Liz Harris.

The successful candidate will primarily be teaching agriscience courses offered for science credit (BSAA and PSAA) in the 2021-2022 school year, and may teach other science courses in future years depending on enrollment. 

This program implements the CASE curriculum through the following courses: Introduction to Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, BSAA, PSAA, Veterinary Science and Ag Business Management. The program also offers dual-credit agriculture course opportunities for students through Heartland Community College.

Normal has a very large and supportive FFA Alumni chapter that supports both high schools. McLean County Unit #5 participates in the Three Circles grant, and the successful candidate will be eligible for a 12-month extended contract.

Qualifications:
Required Illinois Professional Educator License in Agriculture Education and Science. Certifications in CASE courses (AFNR, ASA, ASP, APT, and ABF) are encouraged, but not required. Training for CASE courses will be provided by the school district.
