Dear Agriculture Teachers, SIU-C Alumni, Friends of the College of Agriculture Sciences
The SIU-C Agriculture Alumni will host a Backyard Barbecue at the DuQuoin State Fair on Thursday, Aug 28, 2025. The meal and meeting with Professors from Agricultural Sciences, Forestry and Horticulture programs and the Dean of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences will be held in the Second Heat Building. The location is an air conditioned room on the Southwest side of the State Fairgrounds from 6 pm until 7:30 pm. The meal will be served and prepared by the Anchor Grill in Sesser, Illinois at 6:15 pm with pork chops and chicken dinner. The cost of the meal will be $25.00 for alumni and friends. The cost for the FFA members who attend will be $10.00. The remaining cost of meals for students will be paid by past SIU Agricultural Sciences Alumni. The purpose of the Backyard barbecue is to support the Agbassador program and to provide information for the future students' knowledge of the agriculture programs at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL. We will have a silent auction also during this event. You can bring items for the auction and bid on items to support the college and programs. We will need an approximate meal count number by Aug 22, 2025, so please RSVP by that date to me. You can bring your money to the meal on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
