Tenure-Track | 9-Month Appointment | Starts August 2026

WIU seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Crop Science to teach undergraduate courses (e.g., Crop Science, IPM, Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Crop Physiology) and develop additional offerings based on expertise. The position includes crop production research, management of WIU’s crop enterprises, student advising, and service to the School and University.

Qualifications

Required: Doctorate in Agronomy or related field (by start date); ability to teach and conduct research; knowledge of Midwest crop production; ability to perform field research.
Preferred: Experience with GPS/GIS and emerging ag technologies.

Salary & Benefits

$9,587–$10,653/month (9-month appointment), commensurate with experience. WIU offers comprehensive State of Illinois benefits, including health insurance, SURS retirement, tuition waivers, and more.
