Somonauk High School, in Section 7, has a vacancy for a full-time Ag teacher/FFA Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. The newly hired teacher will join Mrs. Jessica Bochniak and Mr. Jacob Meyer in this 3 teacher/3 school district Ag program/FFA Chapter.
The candidate will be responsible for teaching both middle school and high school agriculture courses. Current courses offered through the program include Exploratory Agriculture, Introduction to Agriculture, BSAA, Food Science, Farm to Fork, Small Animal/Large Animal, Vet Science (Dual Credit), Ag Construction, Ag Business, Horticulture, Ag Mechanics, and Advanced Ag Mechanics. This program is equipped with lab space, a shop, garden, and land lab.
Somonauk has a very active and engaged FFA Chapter, a strong Alumni Chapter, and a supportive community. The school district participates in the Three Circles grant program, providing an extending contract for its Ag teachers/FFA Advisors.
Interested candidates should hold their Professional Educator License (PEL) in Agriculture Education.
