University of Illinois Summer Ag Ed Classes

We are excited to offer two summer professional development opportunities through AGED 500 at the University of Illinois. These courses are designed to provide practical skills, resources, and experiences that you can immediately apply in your agricultural education program.CFPAGED 500: Certified Food Protection Instructor Course (Section CFP)

Date: June 29, 2026
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Instructor: Mynda Tracy
Location: Champaign County Farm Bureau, 801 N. County Fair Dr., Champaign, IL

Participants will earn their Food Sanitation Managers Credential, and Illinois Extension will cover the cost for any of their students interested in taking the certification test.

AGMAGED 500: Technical Skills for Teaching Agricultural Mechanics (Section AGM)

Dates: July 27–29, 2026
Times:

  • Day 1 & 2: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Day 3: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Travis Johnson
Location: Agricultural Engineering & Sciences Building, 1304 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Urbana, IL

Participants will complete a variety of hands-on projects and participate in a guided field trip focused on agricultural mechanics instruction and technical skill development.
