Contest Details: 

We are planning to have 7 judging classes (the pattern will be passed out the day of the event). Participants can participate in 2 ways: either non-reasons or reasons. In the reasons division, contestants will give 2 sets of reasons.  Onsite registration will be from 7:30 am-8:45 am and the contest will begin at 9:00 am. Please have online registration complete by September 10, 2026 so we can order lunch. 

Scoring and Awards: 

As the contest committee, we plan to give out the following awards: top 3 placings (anyone can win), top 3 reasons (obviously only eligible if participating in reasons), top three individuals overall (most likely will only be able to win by doing reasons), and top 5 teams (again, reasons scores included). Local groups can use our scores that day for their own contest results (example: Section 2 FFA or Carroll County 4-H, etc.)

Optional Clinic:

Our official judge will be giving a clinic over the non-reasons classes from approximately 11-12. If you stay for that clinic, lunch will be provided (please indicate this choice in the online registration)

Reasons Division:

We will be following the NHJTCA OFFICIAL HANDBOOK for scoring reasons. Reasons participants should be dressed as reason participants (for FFA members, official dress does count as it would for the National Contest). As a reminder, a team is only eligible for the most awards if they participate in reasons. The reasons rubric is attached.
