Galena Unit School District #120 in Section 1, is seeking a full-time high school teacher for its agricultural education program. Applicants must be honest, highly-competent, caring, reliable, self-motivated, flexible, collaborative, and be willing to go above and beyond her/his duties for the 2024-25 school year.
The Galena Ag Ed Department utilizes the three-circle method of teaching. The Galena FFA has been state recognized and has a long tradition of success. The Galena High School administration, board of education, FFA alumni Board, and community strongly support this program.
Agriculture Courses offered are: Introduction to Agriculture, Ag Sciences, Horticulture, Food Science, Animal Science, Greenhouse Management, Natural Resources, and Consumer Education. The newly hired teacher will be responsible for reviewing, improving, and updating the current curriculum. Facilities include classroom and greenhouse on campus.
This position advises the FFA program outside of school hour and is granted additional "per diem" stipend. School Does participate in 3 Cirlce Grant.
