The Illinois FFA Center has recently learned of the passing of Mr. George Lewis.  Mr. Lewis was a member of the Mt. Sterling FFA chapter and served as the Illinois Association FFA State President in 1948-1949 and went on to serve as the National FFA President in 1949-1950.  Below is the obituary information that we were able to locate.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Lewis' family during this time of sorrow.  

George Jacob Lewis, age 88, of Quincy, died on Sunday, June 14, 2019 at 7:10 pm in Good Samaritan Home.

Services: 10:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Ellington Presbyterian Chruch with the Rev. Ron Cox officiating.

Burial: Hersman Cemetery

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
