Are you looking for a leadership lesson for your agricultural leadership class? Invite a leadership expert to join your class this spring!
Dr. Jenn Smist, Instructor in the Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications (ALEC) Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is available this spring for a virtual guest visit to your high school classroom. She can join via Zoom to an existing virtual class meeting or join your in-person class virtually.
Consider inviting Dr. Smist to facilitate a leadership lesson based on one of the following topics (approx. 30-45 minutes but can be flexible):
- Introduction to Leadership – Define leadership and who has the potential to lead.
- Understanding Your True Colors – Learn about your personality and temperament to understand how you prefer to work and communicate with other people.
- Challenges, Changes, and Conflicts: Oh My! – Learn how emotional intelligence can help leaders navigate challenges, change, and conflict.
- Keys to Effective Teams – Learn about elements for building an effective and collaborative team.
- Recognizing and Resolving Conflict – Learn strategies for navigating conflict in groups and teams.
- Other topics available upon request
Flexible times are currently available between 9am – 4pm on the following dates. If you are interested but none of these work, contact Dr. Smist to discuss other possible dates.
