Heritage High School in Broadlands, IL 61816 is seeking candidates to fill a full-time Agriculture Teaching Position along with an FFA sponsorship.

Heritage High School is located in southeast Champaign County and is just a 25-30 minute drive from Champaign-Urbana and the University of Illinois. High School enrollment is currently 120 students and Heritage CUSD #8 is a K-12 district with a K-8 building in Homer, IL 61849.

Heritage HS has a 7 period school day and the curriculum can be tailored to the specific skill set and certification levels of candidates interested. We have a devoted Ag classroom with wireless and wired computer lab and devices available, a large shop behind the classroom, and a greenhouse outside the classroom at the back of the school building which was upgraded the past year with $25,000 of work inside and out.

FFA is a very popular organization with upwards of 40% of the school some years being members.  FFA attends the National Convention each school year along with contests and regular activities in the state and region.

Heritage Schools has been in person learning this entire school year with a 4 hour in person schedule followed by afternoon remote learning instruction after dismissal.

Starting salary for first-year teacher is $41,118 as of current contract for 2021-2022 school year, and the FFA sponsorship pays 7% of base so $2878 on current extracurricular schedule.  Heritage has also been awarded the Three Circles grant since its inception so this is a year-round position with the grant funds supplementing the contract final salary for summer duties on extended contract.

The school is seeking all candidates, so those with experience will definitely be considered for proper placement on current salary schedule for years of service (negotiable with school board if necessary).  The district pays 95% of a single person health care coverage through Health Alliance and vision, dental, life, and disability are all offered at a small price.

Please send letter of interest or e-mail to Corey White HS Principal, Heritage High School, 206 E. Diller Ave. PO Box 260, Broadlands, IL 61816, e-mail corey.white@heritage8.org.

Heritage CUSD #8 is an Equal Opportunity Employer
