Illinois Foundation FFA December Update

1.  December Update

Illinois Foundation FFA is exceptionally grateful for both the early efforts of the Local Collection Drive and the great response to Giving Tuesday!

  • Local Collection Drive = $36,490

  • State at Large = $18,281.90

  • Total = $54,771.90

  • Giving Tuesday  = $9,587

  • Sponsorship  = $57,963

Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Thank you all for your interest and support the 2019 - 2020 Collection Drive.  We appreciate your time and dedication to this very important task. Our goal for this year's collection drive is $325,000. With your help, we can obtain this goal to provide countless opportunities to over 19,000 Illinois FFA Members.

Teachers,

You will be receiving a letter updating you on your local collection drive efforts that we have recorded to date as of December 6, 2019.  That letter does NOT include funds that were generated from Giving Tuesday, those funds are still being processed and will be credited to appropriate FFA Chapters after the first of the year.  We will be sending those updates quarterly, we hope you find it helpful. Please let us know what we can do to assist you in any way.

Need help getting your Local Collection Drive? Visit the Foundation Toolkit found on the www.ilaged.org website in two locations; TEACH < Educator Resources or GIVE < How You Can Help.

2.  Steps to Completing Your Foundation Transmittal

  1. Complete chapter transmittal - One was provided in the Foundation Collection Drive folder given to the advisor at their fall section meeting or Beginning Advisors conference.  You may also contact Tammy at the FFA Center tyard@illinoisffa.org for a copy.

  • Write date at top of the transmittal sheet.

  • Write amount of donor’s contribution in ‘new amount’ column.

  • Check name and address for accuracy and make any changes directly on the transmittal.

  • List any new donors on the blank transmittal sheets. Please get the complete mailing address for each new donor. Please write/print clearly.  We do send a thank you note to every donor, so it is important that we have their correct mailing address.

  • Write the name, e-mail and phone number of who is submitting the donations and transmittal sheet. This will be the person contacted if we have any questions about the submission.

  •  Make a copy for yourself and mail a copy of the transmittal along with your checks by certified mail to:

        Illinois National Bank

        Trust Department

322 East Capitol Avenue

        Springfield, IL 62701-1710

  • Highly recommend the money and transmittal be sent to the bank by Certified Mail and PLEASE keep your receipt.

  1. EACH TIME you send money, send along a new transmittal sheet with only those donations filled in to match the money.

  1. Certificates can be requested by contacting Tammy tyard@illinoisffa.org or completing the request form Click here.

  1. Donors who give less than $10.00 do not receive a certificate, but they will receive a thank you letter from the Illinois Foundation FFA for their donation, regardless of the amount given.

  1. If you have questions or need assistance you may contact Tammy Yard at the Illinois FFA Center tyard@illinoisffa.org 217-753-3328 ext. 106.

Additional Notes From the Foundation Office

Please …..

If you would like certificates for your banquet, you must request them.  Please call or email the date of the banquet to the FFA Center at least 2-3 weeks in advance.  E-mail: Tammy at tyard@illinoisffa.org.

Remember…..

Send a copy of the transmittal sheet along with the money, each time you submit donations to the bank.

Please…..

MUST SEND the Money and Transmittal by CERTIFIED MAIL and PLEASE keep your receipt.

Make Sure…..

The amount of money you send matches the amount listed on the transmittal. If there is a discrepancy, we will go by the amount of money sent, not the transmittal.

Please…..

Do your best to get your money and transmittal to us by JANUARY 31 so we have time to enter them and get the results and certificates back to you. Just remember, totals and certificates can’t be done until everything is in and balanced, so the sooner we get your donations and transmittal, the sooner you will get your certificates, if you have requested them.

For your donors (of $100 or more) to be recognized in the state convention program, we must have received their donation by January 31.  That allows us time to get the donation processed and included in the report that is used for creating the convention program.
