Vacancy- 2022-2023 Mattoon High School Ag Teacher & FFA Advisor
Mattoon School District is seeking a
full time Agriculture Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Courses
taught will be determined by the strengths of the hired candidate but will
likely include; Animal Science, Plant Science, SAE, Ag Science and Career exploration.
Facilities include a classroom with
full set of lab quest equipment, ag mechanics shop with 16 multi process
welding stations, 4' x 4' CNC plasma cutter, full powder coating capabilities,
a 30' x 70' greenhouse, an 1,1000 gallon aquaponic system, setup for chickens,
setup for rabbits or quail and a 9 acre plot. Within
the program there are about 150 students enrolled. This is a 2 teacher
program.
The successful candidate
will be paid based on the collective bargaining agreement. This position also
includes an FFA stipend, 20 day extended contract and the Three Circles
Grant.
The Mattoon School
District is active in supporting and growing it's CTE programs. The School
Board and community have supported the development of a regional career
center. This exciting opportunity is slated to open for the 2022 - 2023 school
year. It is anticipated that the Ag program will be able to develop opportunities
for regional students to attend in the near future.
