
The Cook County Farm Bureau is seeking to hire a fulltime Director of Ag Literacy to fill a staff position due to an upcoming summer retirement.
Major responsibilities include directing the Cook County Farm Bureau and Foundation Ag Literacy programming in area schools, developing curriculum and presentations for classroom and non-classroom use, working with volunteers and partners to deliver agriculture program experiences and partnering with other organizations/groups to enhance agricultural literacy in the county.
Criteria include:
- Four-year college degree
- Teaching knowledge, experience – classroom or organizational
- Strong verbal, written and electronic communication skills and knowledge
- Mature and calm individual who can multitask in a busy work environment
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize based on organizational goals
- Some Agricultural knowledge and understanding of consumer farm-related product choices and consumption is helpful
