About the Program

“Growing America’s Farmers” (GAF) is a retail promotional program that utilizes in-store promotions to support scholarships for FFA students planning careers in production agriculture. For participating retailers, suppliers like G&R Farms set aside a percentage of all sales and make a matching contribution that will be donated to the National FFA Foundation. This is an example where consumers purchase matters and really can make a difference. GAF is the brainchild of Walt Dasher, a third generation southeast Georgia farmer and a strong advocate of Future Farmers of America (FFA).

How it Works

The program is 100% funded by suppliers through retailer supported programs.

As a retail supporter, G&R Farms or brand participants, set aside a percentage of each case sold to retailer partner*.

Case sales are tracked and a check in the name of the retail partner is presented to the National FFA Foundation.

A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of Vidalia onions from G&R Farms and potatoes from Bushman’s at participating Jewel-Osco stores in Illinois will be donated to the Illinois Foundation FFA for scholarships.
