(sent to Section 1-5)
Dear District 1 FFA Chapters,
The Eastland FFA is excited to extend an invitation to a District wide Steps Challenge. The members and officers of the Eastland FFA are challenging the District 1 FFA Chapters to count their steps to see who is the most active. The challenge will run from September 1- September 30, 2022.
Details:
-
Each team will be composed of 10 student FFA members and 1 FFA Advisor.
-
Each chapter will pay $50 to participate in the challenge- regardless of how many teams your school has. At the end of the challenge the winning school will collect all the money with the intention that they will donate or utilize all or most of it for a service project or charity of their choice. Checks can be made payable to Eastland FFA.
-
All members of the team must have an accurate way to count their steps such as a Fitbit, Apple Watch, Smart Phone, etc.
-
Each day the members of the team will record their steps in a Google Sheet. Each school will have their own Google Sheet to collect step data.
-
Each week the Eastland FFA officers will total the school's steps and give updates on who is winning.
-
If a school chooses Cross Country or Golfers to participate on their team they will be limited to 15,000 steps on days they have a meet.
If your school would like to participate in the challenge please fill out the attached Google Form with your school and name of each participant. A Google Sheet with your information will then be sent back to you.
