Charleston Career and Tech Education Teacher
Charleston High School, located in Section 20, is looking
for a full-time CTE teacher. This teacher would be responsible for teaching 4
sections of Intro to Agriculture/Intro to Industrial Tech. Industrial Tech
classes would be shop classes covering woodshop, CAD, and plasma table at an introductory/exploratory
level. This teacher may also be expected to teach other Ag courses, such
as Horticulture, or even a business class, such as Computer Concepts.
CHS utilizes a block schedule. CHS teachers currently teach
a total of 3 80-minute classes per day along with an 80-minute prep period each
day. Each teacher teaches a total of 6 sections.
Charleston currently employs 1 full-time AG teacher and
1-full-time industrial tech teacher. This position would be adding a 3rd full
time position to the department. This year Charleston’s Agriculture and Mechanical
center was completely renovated with state-of-the-art tools and equipment. We have
a strong focus on growing these programs along with our student-based
enterprises.
