The Urban Agriculture and Life Science Academy is a program that will empower agricultural educators to recruit and retain the next generation of agriculturalists by increasing engagement, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge retention of students using culturally responsive pedagogy.
The UALSA Summer Institute is a 5-day residential program to train educators on culturally responsive pedagogy that encourages urban students' identity expression, increased problem-solving skills, and intent to engage in the agricultural and life sciences. As a graduate of the summer institute, you will be paid to write culturally responsive lessons and gain access to lessons that others have written. The 2023 UALSA Summer Institute will be held in Athens, GA. from June 25th - July 1st. Admittance into the institute will include airfare, lodging, meals, and training materials.
