Pittsfield High School, located in Pike County in Section 13, is accepting applications for a 2nd Agriculture teacher. The successful candidate will join the program with the current teacher, Jody Heavner.
The program consists of a wide range of agriculture classes. Current and proposed classes include Introduction to Ag, Basic Ag Science, Vet Science, Animal and Plant Science, Ag Business, Horticulture, Conservation and Natural Resources, Ag Communications and Leadership, Precision Technology, and Welding. Teaching assignments will be designed to work towards the experiences and interests of each teacher. The goal is to best serve students with a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum.
Facilities include a General Ag Shop, Greenhouse, and Farm Plot.
Pittsfield has a very active FFA Chapter, which has consistently earned recognition at the State and National levels and is home to an active Alumni chapter.
Salary will follow the Pikeland CUSD 10 Contract. The Three Circle Teacher Grant will also be offered to cover additional time for FFA and activities making this a 12-month position.
Interested candidates should hold a Professional Educator License in Agricultural Education, a CTE License with Stipulations in Agriculture, or be able to earn a CTE License with Stipulations in Agriculture.
