Hello....I have expanded our list this week (and this week only) due to school closures.
If you aren't familiar with this program, each week I send a new 300-500 word article from FARMWEEK, and 5-7 questions and answers that accompany it. The main goal is to continue to infuse agriculture topics and also to expose students to non-fiction text.
Attached you will find the article for the week and the word document of the article.
ADDITIONALLY, on March 17 at noon, Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom will launch a 'daily' theme of an assortment of lessons that can be incorporated in e-learning activities or for parents to use at home. You can follow this on our social media site (search IL Agriculture in the Classroom on Face Book, IL AG Class on Twitter or visit our website www.agintheclassroom.org) Each site will redirect to our blog where the lessons will be housed.
Each day will have a topic (March 17 is Where Does My Milk Come From) it also features a K-3 activity a 4-8 lesson and a STEM activity. We are also including links to unique videos and other sites. This week we include a visit to a diary farm as well as the Peterson Brothers 'We Will Milk You' video. Feel free to share this with teachers/parents in your networks. -- Kevin Daugherty Illinois Farm Bureau/Illinois Ag in the Classroom Phone: -- Cell: -- Email: kdaugherty@ilfb.org Address:
