-Due to COVID-19, as of Monday, March 16, 2020, FCAE staff have been working from their homes. They may be entering their offices as the owner of the office allows for needed supplies and resources.
-Any virtual professional learning for teachers and school staff will adhere to ISBE’s Remote Learning Recommendations.
-State Ag Ed Staff conference calls are scheduled every Tuesday from 10 am - Noon, and FCAE staff conference calls as needed throughout the week.
-A summary of tasks has been developed that everyone can do at their home without traveling. Major activities are:
- Identifying and updating an E-Learning summary page of resources on www.ILAgEd.org
- Assisting agriculture teachers with remote learning resources and techniques.
- Continuing to connect with ag teachers, AITC coordinators, and stakeholders in offering assistance on many topics and concerns.
- Updating and entering school, teacher, and student data in our online database for junior highs, high schools, and colleges.
- Developing course outlines for new agriculture courses per the proposed new AFNR matrix.
- Identifying content experts to assist in reviewing the lesson plans and resources for our Core Curriculum Agribusiness Library.
- Providing social media updates to our Illinois Agricultural Education (FCAE) Facebook page
- Conducting an Ag Career Corner, 2 pm weekdays on the Illinois Association FFA Facebook page.
- Planning and presenting virtual learning opportunities.
-To date, the FCAE project has received $680,000 of the $1,080,000 for FY20. FCAE staff are not traveling. Staff salary, benefits, and cell phone bills are the only expenditures at this time.
