ILCAE- Seeking Input on Agricultural Education Teacher Retention Research Study
Per the directive of ILCAE, a collaborative effort between researchers at Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, and FCAE were established to examine why Illinois agriculture educators remain in the teaching profession. Dr. Steven Still (SIU), Dr. Lucas Maxwell (ISU), and Dr. Jay Solomonson (FCAE) have been meeting virtually to plan this study.
The research team decided to conduct a mixed-methods study imploring both a survey instrument and conduct interviews to current Illinois agriculture teachers that meet the studies participant requirements. The population to be examined will be all full-time agriculture teachers with six or more years of teaching experience in Illinois.
The research team is requesting that ILCAE members submit specific research questions they would like to see as part of the study. Please forward those questions to Dr. Solomonson at jsolomonson@ilaged.org by Friday, April 24, 2020. This will help guide the research team as they develop objectives for this study.
Thank you for your support,
Dr. Solomonson, Dr. Still, and Dr. Maxwell
