The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is seeking qualified candidates to apply to join the Department of CTE & Innovation as the Principal Consultant for Agricultural Education. The selected candidate will be the primary consultant for agricultural education responsible for the administration of Illinois’ statewide program. The selected candidate will be assisted by Andrew Klein who has transitioned to a new role that is part time agricultural education in addition to other departmental responsibilities.

• Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $55,251 - $69,821
• Full Salary Range: $55,251 - $94,029
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Administers formula-based agriculture grants and state leadership grants for agriculture
• Oversees agricultural education coursework, professional learning and curricular resources
• Serves as the state advisor working with the IAVAT and Illinois Association FFA
• Represents the state at local, regional, state, and national conferences and meetings
• Serves as point of contact for the U.S. Department of Education for agriculture education
• Provides communication with stakeholders and coordinates state annual reports
• Provides technical assistance, support, and monitoring to regional CTE systems and educators
• Advocates for equity in programming which supports all students
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Master's degree or a bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in agriculture education
• Illinois Professional Educator License or ELS-CTE with endorsement in AFNR
• Two years of teaching experience in agriculture or CTE
• Travel required
